Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Short update...so sorry.
--------
Robyn watched with a fearful eye as Azrael left her side to join Moki and her ‘new’ friend Sansenoy. She felt a cold hand close over her heart as Sansenoy looked back over his shoulder at her. His eyes seemed to be saying that it would not be long, not long at all before she was right where he wanted her. But a moment later he had turned back, and it was as if it had never happened.
Robyn found herself shrinking closer to Frank, trying not to be noticed any further. As she clung to Frank, she watched as Lillith drug her Gerard (not her’s…never her’s) away into a dark room to do…who knew what. Apparently they could not wait any longer to be in each other’s arms. She felt anger burning in her stomach, but she couldn’t act on it…not now. Maybe not ever. Instead she was about to drag Frank off in another direction, like maybe towards their own dark corner, when a familiar voice reached her ears.
“You made it,” Zooey squeaked, running and giving Robyn a hug before giving Frank one as well. She was dressed in a twinkling blue tea length dress, her hair pinned in tight ringlets. Mikey came up a moment later, hand in the pockets of his dress pants, hair hanging slightly in his eyes as he looked down at his shoes. His blazer was black with a silken red shirt underneath. Mikey came and stood beside Zooey, who threw him a dirty look.
“H-hey Mikes,” Robyn said softly.
“Hey Byn…Frank,” Mikey said softly.
Zooey sent him another look, as if maybe she had held a conversation with Mikey about how he has acted when Frank and she had first arrived. Robyn braced herself for a halted and awkward conversation, but that was interrupted as Smegeloff walked over to the group of them.
“I am sorry to interrupt you, but dinner is about to begin and I am to take you four to your table.”
Smegeloff gave a small bow, then lead them past the door where Lillith and Gerard had disappeared into, and toward the dinning room. Robyn tried to peak into the room, but could not see anyone inside.
Inside the dinning room several tables were set up, and the four of them were led to one near what would be the main dinning table.
“Sit here, the rest of the guests will be arriving shortly,” Smegeloff gave another bow, his eyes connecting with Robyn’s for a moment longer than usual before he walked off. Robyn’s hand quickly found Frank’s under the table and gave it a squeeze as Smegeloff lead Sansenoy, Azrael, and Moki inside. This was indeed going to be a long night.

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Azrael glared as he saw Smegaloff speaking to Byn.
Perhaps Lillith was content to have Senoy and his minions around her daily. But Azrael was NOT. Not around her and NOT around Ro'Byn. Why wasn't she more vigilant? Had she been so blinded by his desire to protect her, that she had begun to believe the lies he was telling? Beginning with the lie he told her, the worst lie of all, that he DID NOT love her, on the night he freed Byn and Frank. He only told them he wanted Moki and took the memory of the nights event away from she and Rardy to protect them.
Had he inadvertantly allowed Lilly to completely take over? Was His Lillith gone forever?
His eyes flew from Byn, to her mother as he heard her laughter. The sound he had first heard in The Garden the moment his whole existance changed.
Then he loved her, the moment he saw her, and watched her. He made it his whole purpose to please her. NOW he wanted nothing more than to do so again.
But how could he? He could Not let Moki realise his thoughts. Yet he HAD to do something.
He watched Byn's eyes when she looked at Rardy. Azrael closed his own eyes trying to feel the little thread of the bond that was still left between he and Rardy. Had the boy REALLY given up on ever finding his way back to Byn's arms and heart again?
Azrael suddenly stood up. He quickly walked toward Lillith, his heals of his VERY expensive boots clicking on the marbled floor. "Lady would you have your own daughter relegated to a distant table? Should she not be seated at the guests of Host and Hostess?"
Lillith turned slowly toward the sound of his voice. She had recognized his footfall before he spoke. She had a little time to prepare herself, and her reaction to him as she turned to him.
"Indeed Master Angel. MY daughter, WILL be seated as her place dictates. SHE will be escourted to her place when the time is right." She said as icily as she could.
"THIS is MY house Master Angel. DO NOT forget that."
Gee seemed to be incontrol, as he stood PROUDLY next to the woman in Red.
"Go back and wait until you are called along with the OTHER guests." he sneared.
Senoy who had been standing nearby and had heard the whole exchange. He raised one eyebrow, "Nonsence Lad...I think it would be only fitting that all the new couples should dine together. We'll merely re-arrange a table or two, and we would be honored to raise a glass with you Brother Angel. Please? Will you not join us?" He motioned for Smeg to bring Byn and Frank forward.
Azrael saw Lillith's jaw drop. He turned to Moki and held out his hand, then turned back and smiled evilly, "WE shall be delighted."
Lillith's eyes narrowed. "YES join us, it wil be OUR pleasure." she said as she linked her arms in Senoy's and led the way.

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Robyn was sitting next to Frank at the table that Smegaloff had shown them to with their friends Zooey and Mikey, when suddenly she felt an hand on her shoulder. She turned in her seat and to see that it was Smegaloff again. Robyn frowned slightly, poking Frank to get his attention.
“Excuse my Miss Robyn,” Smegaloff said with a bow that gave Robyn a funny feeling, “but your and Frank’s presence is requested at the main table as guests of honor.”
Robyn’s eyes trailed towards the table, seeing who all was seated there already. She felt her complexion blanch slightly. She was not looking forward to sharing a table with the likes of Moki, Senoy, and Sansenoy. Even Gerard’s presence was questionable, especially since the only two vacant seats were one next to Azrael and another next to Gerard.
‘At least the seats are across from one another,’ Robyn thought as she allowed herself to be led away from the table with her friends to instead sit with her enemies, knowing that refusal would do her no good.
Smegaloff led her to the seat next to Gerard, pulling the chair out for her, and pushing her in toward the table before motioning for Frank to take the seat next to Azrael. Frank looked beyond angry that he was not sitting next to her, but instead Gerard was. Robyn was trying her best to ignore that fact. Out of the corner of her eyes she caught a brief glimpse of Gerard reaching for the bottle of wine across from him and filled his cup, drained it, then filled it again.
Instead of watching Gerard as he drank himself into oblivion, Robyn looked around the table, trying to see who all she was sitting with. Next to Gerard was her mother who sat next to the head of the table who was none other than Senoy. Next to Senoy was Moki, who was looking overly pleased with the events that had taken place thus far. Next to Moki was Azrael, who’s eyes locked with her’s briefly before she looked away to see Frank glaring daggers at Gerard. On Robyn’s other side was Raphael’s saint friend Venin. She was in her saint form, but instead of the flowing white robes she normally wore, she had on a beautiful black dress, which made her pale skin seem to glow but looked beautiful with her soft black wings. Across from her was the other saint, Paul, looking at the young woman saint with longing eyes, which made Robyn’s skin crawl. Next to Venin was Raphael, keeping a close eye on the male saint who Venin seemed oblivious to. On Paul’s other side sat Smegaloff, looking a bit put out with his seating arrangement. Near the other end of the table was Sansenoy, as far from his father as he could get without actually being at the other end. Robyn looked at him for but a moment, but her momentary stare still caught his attention and his eyes fell on her. His eyes lit up with a dark light, a cruel smirk twisting on his lips before Robyn could pull her eyes away. As she pulled her eyes away they fell to the man at the other head of the table. He was slightly familiar, with the darkness that seemed to ooze from his very soul…if he had one. She had a hard time placing him for a moment though. Before long it hit her, that was the gentleman who had visited her in the hospital, who had allowed her to see Lillith when she was so ill, and who had snuck into her hospital room one night to…what? She didn’t know. She watched as he looked around him, a pleased smile on his face. Somehow, even though she wasn’t sure who he was (though she had a pretty good idea), she knew that if this arrangement made him happy it mustn’t be good.
Behind her, the rest of the guests were all in their seats, preparing for dinner. Robyn envied Mikey and Zooey that they did not have to share this table. Next to her she could feel Gerard’s eyes on her again, but why was he staring at her anyway? Did he want her to be moved to another seat? Did he hate her that much? Robyn turned her head to get a peek at him, seeing that he was staring at her with wide eyes. She didn’t get a chance to see if his eyes were filled with hate or not, because Frank loudly cleared his throat. She felt her cheeks blushing as she looked back at Frank. Frank favored her with a gentle smile, before glaring at Gerard. Robyn wished that he would not do that, it seemed childish. Like he was somehow sinking to Gerard’s level. Robyn pondered clearing her throat to get his attention, but before she could Senoy had stood at the head of the table, a proud smile on his face.
“I am glad that you have all chosen to spend the last night of the year with my lovely Lillith and I,” it was here that he took Lillith’s hand and pressed a gentle kiss against it with a smile.
“We would like to welcome Lillith’s daughter, Roberta Appolonia, to our home along with her future husband Frank.”
Robyn felt all eyes on she and Frank. Her cheeks were on fire, not helped by the fact that she could feel Gerard’s eyes on her once again, but when she looked at him he quickly found that his glass of wine (number three Robyn thought) was very interesting. She looked back to Senoy as he began talking again, but that did not stop her hand nearest to Gerard from tingling from the want of her hand in his.
“Now, without further ado,” Senoy said with a errie bright smile, “dinner is served.”

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Let's see what Gerard was thinking while Robyn is next to him.
------------
Gerard had watched as Smegaloff was told to get Robyn from her table. He himself had just been shown to his seat at the large table next to Lillith. He watched as others gathered around the table toward their seats, leaving empty seats next to he and Azrael. Empty seats that were about to be taken by Robyn and Frank. Gerard felt a fluttering in his chest at the thought that Robyn might be seated next to him. Partly because he would be so close to her, so close to the girl he loved, but also because of fear. Fear that no matter what, he could still lose her. He let out a soft sigh that Lillith responded to with a secret pat on his leg. He turned toward her, but found that her eyes were turned to look at where Smegaloff was leading her daughter. Gerard turned in time to see Smegaloff pushing Robyn’s chair in next to his. Robyn’s cheeks were pink tinted, her skin pale and fair, her hair smelt of strawberries…Gerard mentally shook himself, trying to get those thoughts out of his head. Trying not to allow her closeness to affect him. But oh how he wanted to tell her just how he felt. Oh how he wanted to tell her he loved her. His hand closest to her began to tingle with the want to touch her soft pale skin, but instead he reached for the wine bottle in front of him.
He poured himself a large glass, drained it with no problem and poured him another. He was used to this, after all this was his nightly habit. What made this night any different, just because she was here?
Gerard swirled the wine in his glass slowly, watching its blood red color splash against the side of the glass before downing another mouthful. He felt his pain dulled a little, like maybe he’d be able to last through dinner without throwing himself at her feet. ‘That’, the darker part of his mind said, ‘is a dumb idea. After all, if she had not been such a cold bitch you’d probably be together. Or at least already fucked her’
He frowned into his glass, not liking the way that the darker part of himself was thinking. He finished off this glass of wine and started another. As he poured himself a third glass he caught Azrael looking at him with a disapproving gaze.
‘What does he have to disapprove,’ his darkness…the Gee part of him stated, ‘what does he have to complain about? He chose Moki over Lilly and let his lust for your girl get the best of him. If anything he is to blame for his own stupidity.’
Gerard shook his head, trying to shake the thought away. It was not Azrael’s fault, and it was not Robyn’s either, it was his own weakness that led them to ruin.
‘Perhaps,’ the dark voice whispered, ‘or maybe it was because you were tired of seeing that frigid bitch flirt with everyone around her…maybe you wanted something you deserved instead of being stuck with her.’
Gerard downed his glass of wine, wanting to drown out the cruel voice inside him. As he reached to the nearly empty bottle of wine, filling his glass again, he looked over at Robyn. Her complexion had paled a bit, perhaps when she noticed Sansenoy and Lucifer were at the table as well. Gerard continued to look at her, taking in every detail and trying to see if she had changed at all since she had left. The main difference he saw was that she had lost some weight, but besides that she still seemed the same. No one had hurt her while she was gone, so far Short Stuff had done a good job watching after her.
Gerard was about to turn away, when Robyn suddenly turned toward him. Gerard was reminded in a flash of why he loved her so much. Her face was concerned, her eyes soft. He could almost see the forgiveness in her features. If he could just talk to her, tell her how sorry he was and how much he loved her, he was sure she would come back to him. He felt his eyes grow wide, his arms aching to hold her close to him as his heart beat like a jackhammer against his chest, but after a beat he heard someone clear their throat. He looked in time to see Frank, the offender, flash Robyn a small smile before he turned toward Gerard with an icy glare. Out of the corner of his eyes Gerard could see Robyn giving a tired sigh, perhaps exasperated with Frank’s attitude. He was about to turn back to Robyn, to hell with what Frank thought, but before he could Senoy was calling everyone’s attention.
“I am glad that you have all chosen to spend the last night of the year with my lovely Lillith and I,” it was here that he took Lillith’s hand and pressed a gentle kiss against it with a smile. Gerard fought the urge to gag.
Senoy then looked at Robyn with an odd light in his eyes. “We would like to welcome Lillith’s daughter, Roberta Appolonia, to our home along with her future husband Frank.”
Gerard turned to look at Robyn, seeing her cheeks regain their embarrassed blush. Gerard frowned, remembering when it was their engagement that everyone was announcing not long ago. He continued to stare until Robyn began to turn towards him. Instead of looking at her head on again, he reached for his wineglass and drained it, trying to remember how many glasses he’d had so far as he poured another. He wanted to drown in this wine. Drown himself so he would no longer feel his pain in his heart for the creature next to him.
“Now,” Senoy announced with an eerie smile, “without further ado, dinner is served.”

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Azrael stared at Gerard. He was drinking the wine FAR faster than Azrael would have liked. He wanted to Rardy to stop it at ONCE.
Byn may not be in his arms yet, but she never would be if he did not stop this nonsence.
Azrael looked around the table. This was Not going at all as he would like.
He looked over at Byn, with what, he hoped was a lusty look. He wanted to Moki get angry, jealous. That was when she was prone to make mistakes.
He stole a glance at Lillith. Oh How he wanted to tell her how he still felt. How much he still loved her.
But he could not. He was afraid of the look of hatred he was sure he would see in her eyes.
He was afraid she would never again look at him with anything but distain or distgust. After all, he had allowed Lillith to believe he had tried to Take her daughter. She THOUGHT he was at least an attempted Rapist.
It was not the first time she had thought that. He HAD tried to take Byn before, true it was back at the House of Wolves but still.
And then later, he HAD tried to seduce Ro'Byn when Lilliy had taken over and Lillith turned against him.
So WHY should she believe anything differently now.
Why should she not believe him to be the monster he had almost become?
The monster that was still with in him whispered. 'Then again, even if she does, why should she care? She lays with her Rapist every night? Why not you?'
Even as the thought occured to him he saw Senoy raise Lillith's hand to his lips.
It sickened Azrael.
He HAD to find away to make things right.
Find away to save them all.
Especially HIS Hadequa.

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
The dinner was relatively quiet.
Aside from Moki's celebratory mood and her open flirting with SanSanoy. Was she TRYING to make Az jealous Rardy wondered. He looked at Az, he certainly didn't seemed to be.
Az on the other hand couldn't seem to make up his mind which of the women Rardy loved to stare at. And he kept trying to move the damn bottle away from Rardy.
Then there was Frank, looking at Byn with HUGE puppy dog eyes.
Rardy felt himself slipping away, he knew it was only a matter of time before he lost his grip and Gee took over again.
Just then he saw Byn smile at Frank as he picked around his food.
Gee smiled at Frank, his eyes twinkling, "Still not eatting meat I see?" he looked at Byn, "Does it count if you eat fish?"

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Frank sighed as a large steak was placed in front of him. Looking around the table, he saw people conversing with one another in a friendly manner as they sliced into their rare meat. Moki and Sansenoy were especially friendly. Frank though was keeping his eyes on Robyn as she picked around on her plate.
Frank watched as she popped a potato in her mouth before catching his stare. She blushed a little, making Frank’s heart flutter in his chest as he returned her smile.
Next to her he heart Gerard let out a low chuckle.
“Still not eating meat I see?” He said, the light of laughter dancing in his eyes as he looked at Robyn. “Does it count if you eat fish?”
Frank looked up, confused. His gaze fell on Robyn who also looked a bit lost. She turned to Gerard, frowning.
“Wull,” Frank said softly, “y-yeah…fish is meat Gee.”

"I Meant fish tacoo? SSoo when you eat Byn ya still count as vegan? I Guess you'd hafta swallow for you ta NOT? Does dick count yes or no?"
He grinned evilly, waiting for it all to sink in.
Azrael glared at Gee making him laugh out loud.
Lilly raised a glass to him. Senoy was NOT pleased.

Frank choked on a bite of his roll as what Gerard was saying sank in. As Gerard began laughing out loud Frank looked up at Robyn, seeing that she was pale and mortified. Frank felt his face flush in anger and embarrassment.
"Why don't you shut the hell up Gee," he said softly, trying not to attract so much attention to his and Gerard's fight. After all, Robyn was seeing what a jerk Gerard was and that was all that mattered.
"That's not the way you talk in front of a lady...but I guess you wouldn't know since you don't have one anymore," Frank finished with a sneer.

Lilly leaned in "He has ALL that he needs."
Azrael's jaw set. "Gerard. That IS enough." he said with a meancing tone. Moki just laughed harder having heard the exchange. He turned toward her. "Do Shut up. Go back to stroking your lap dog."
Senoy stood. "Perhaps you should escort your mistress out of here. EXPLAIN to her I will NOT tollerate Ro'Byn being taunted in MY Home."
Azrael stood and pulled Moki to her feet. "NOW!"

"Perhaps you should escort your mistress out of here. EXPLAIN to her I will NOT tollerate Ro'Byn being taunted in MY Home."
Robyn began hyperventalating as Azrael took Moki from the room. Sansenoy left behind them, a twisted smile on his face. With Azrael gone, Gerard reached for another wine bottle and poured himself and Lillith another large glass a piece.
"Shouldn't you slow down," Robyn said softly to him.
Gerard turned on her, "what the fuck do you think gives you the right to tell me what I can and cannot do?" He roared at her. He then scoffed, "its not like you married me right? You left me for the munchkin didn't ya?"
Robyn felt tears sting her eyes, but blinked them back as she looked in front of her to see Frank's anger simmering beneath the surface.
"She just doesn't want you fucking up again tonight Gee," Frank said in a low voice, "who knows who you'll do then."
"Why, jealous that I never thought of fucking you Shorty?"
Frank's cheeks flushed as he opened his mouth to retort, but Gerard turned away. Towards Senoy.
"And who the hell do you think you are telling me how to speak in front of anyone...especially everyones sweet precious virgin Ro'Byn."

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Frank glared AND blushed at the same time.
Senoy seemed to be seething he leaned in a snatched the glass away from Lillith. He said something to her, in a language far older than Gee could even imagine. But it made Lillith blanch. Gee INSTANTLY felt his Lilly's presence dissappear. Rardy fought his way to the surface and looked at both Lillith and Byn they had BOTH lost color.
Lillith looked at Byn, then back at Senoy. "NO!! No it's NOT...Oh..Oh No,,,that Night...The night you swore you would not-!!" Lillith looked back at Byn sorrow filling her eyes. "I am...sorry." she gasped.

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Robyn was sure that Gerard's cocky nature was about to get him into trouble with Senoy. She actually found herself becoming afraid that Senoy would hurt him. He was drunk after all, and should not be killed by their host.
Senoy was seething as he snatched Lillith's glass from her, sloshing red wine across the table cloth. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her close to him.
Senoy hissed something in her mother's ear, and Robyn watched all anger and malice leave her face in moments. Robyn strained her ears, watching as her mother mouthed something silently. Something that looked like 'father' and 'daughter' in that long forgotten language her mother had taught her as a child.
Robyn felt her world spin off its axis and spin endlessly into the dark coldness of space. She lost all color, it had even become hard to breath.
Robyn felt Gerard and Frank both look at she and Lillith, both alarmed.
"NO!!" Lillith said to Senoy. "No it's NOT...Oh..Oh No, that Night...The night you swore you would not-!!" Lillith looked back at Byn sorrow filling her eyes. "I am...sorry." she gasped.
Robyn stood from her seat, hands on the table.
"No," she whispered, "it can't be true."
"Ro'Byn please," Senoy said, seeming alarmed that she had understood.
"No," Robyn said, her voice gathering in strength. "I don't want to hear it," she turned toward him, "especially from you."
She then turned to face Frank, "s-sorry Frank. I...I just gotta ger out of here."
Robyn ran from the room, hearing others leaving the table as she did, but not caring to look back. Robyn ran up the stairs as fast as she could and turned into the room that had been created for her. She slammed the door and leaned against it, laying her head against her knees that were against her chest. She wouldn't...couldn't accept it...not that...not Senoy as a father.

Re: Stay! Third story in the 'Don't let me sleep' series.
Even more drama!
----------
Robyn sat in the room that had been waiting, ready for her. How could she not have known? How was she so blind? It was nearly as bad as not seeing that Gerard and her mother and Azrael were all sleeping together. She let out an angry sigh against her knees as she sat against the door. She felt her anger bubbling beneath the surface of her skin. Not anger towards her mother, after all she had seemed about as shocked as Robyn herself had. No, she felt anger towards Azrael, towards Senoy. The two of them together had bonded together to have Sari created, it seemed logical that Azrael had somehow had a hand in this as well as Senoy.
Robyn shook with anger at just the thought of Senoy. He was a back stabber, a traitor, and a fallen angel, among so many other things. And now added on top of that pile of titles was the title of father.
“And I always thought Larry was bad,” Robyn muttered to herself with a mirthless laugh.
She wanted to scream, to cry, to run away and never return…but what good would that do? If Senoy wanted to find her, she was pretty sure he could, and if not him than a lackey of his could just as easily. Sansenoy and Moki had little trouble finding her before.
Robyn sighed, feeling a slight headache pounding behind her eyes. She looked up from her knees, about to see if there was a back door to a bathroom that might have a medicine cabinet in it, but instead she heard something glass come crashing to the ground. Quickly, Robyn jumped up and looked around, seeing if someone had snuck into her room, but the only entrance or exit she had previously been resting her back against, so there did not seem to be anyone else in the room.
Still, Robyn checked the closet and under the bed only to find no one in the room. During her inspection she found that a lamp had fallen to the floor from a shelf.
“Rats maybe,” she pondered to herself, finding that the prospect of rats were less scary than the people she was sharing this ‘dinner party’ with.
With a small sigh she quickly picked up the lamp remains and threw them into a trashcan before crashing on the bed. She immediately regretted it, because the scent of leather and smoke filled her senses. She quickly sat up, and moved toward a chair at the small vanity in the room. The room over all was pretty, done in a style that she herself might have picked, but she could not feel comfortable in it. Robyn turned to her reflection in the mirror, seeing that her eyes were slightly puffy and that her eyeliner had run across her cheeks. She quickly fixed her eyeliner, though her eyes would just have to go down by themselves.
Robyn slowly stood from the vanity, thinking that it would be best to head downstairs again. After all, she did not want to be in this room with midnight hit. She did not want to miss her first real New Years kiss.
Robyn smiled at that thought, but it was wiped away when she heard someone’s unwelcome voice at her door.
“Excuse me, but I am here to see my darling sister,” it was Sansenoy, and his voice sent a shiver down her spine.
“You are not welcome here,” it was Venin’s voice, and she sounded mad.
“Well, you can excuse me miss if I do not do as you as me to. After all, you are only a saint, and I believe even fallen angels have jurisdiction over you.”
Sansenoy’s taunting tone was even making Robyn angry, so she had no idea how Venin could keep her composer.
“You would be mistaken fallen one,” said Raphael from the other side of her door in a tense voice. Apparently he and Venin were now her personal guard.
“Oh come now Raphy,” Sansenoy said with a audible smirk, “you are just mad that you didn’t finish the job in Egypt all that millennia ago.” There was a small pause that was filled with Sansenoy’s soft chuckle, “of course if you did you wouldn’t have this sweet saint here to keep your bed warm now would you? Not to mention the sweet young thing in that room to protect.”
“Leave,” Venin growled, her voice seeming to take on two different octaves, “leave before I do something you will regret.”
“Come now sweetie,” Sansenoy said, “you can’t still be mad about what happened in that alley can you be?”
‘Alley,' Robyn thought, her heart suddenly racing though she did not understand why yet.
“Come on,” Sansenoy continued, “if I hadn’t snuffed you out then, would you be here now to protect the ‘sweet virgin’?”
“Leave,” Raphael barked, his voice making Robyn shake…or maybe it was the thoughts flashing through her head. “Leave or I will make you leave.”
Sansenoy was quiet a moment, though Robyn did not know why, maybe sizing Raphael and Venin up to see if a fight would be worth it. After a moment though he spoke again, “well then, I suppose I’ll just have to wait till later to welcome her into the family. I suppose I should find Moki before midnight.” The last part of his speech was said while departing.
Robyn sighed, collapsing to her knees softly in her dress. Her head was buzzing with everything Sansenoy had said. Not about her being his sister, but that Venin had died in a very similar way to how Vanessa had died. But Vanessa was not allowed to be near her, was she? And if it was Vanessa, would she have not told her already?
‘No,’ Robyn thought, ‘even if it was her, she can’t let me know…but what if…what if Venin is Vanessa?’
It brought a small spark of hope to Robyn, thinking that someone like Vanessa was so close, even if she could not be sure. Still, Robyn tried not to get her hopes up too much. Azrael had been fairly clear on the subject. As Robyn stood again, preparing herself to go downstairs, she heard Frank’s voice at the door.
“Um…is…is Bert inside?”
Robyn smiled a little, opening the door to answer his question.
“Here I am Frankie,” she said, taking his arm.
Frank looked pale, and a bit afraid, but it softened a bit at the site of her.
“Hey, um, nearly midnight? Wanna head down together?”
Robyn smiled, throwing Venin and Raphael a glance before nodding, “yeah, lets finish this.”
