Okay, so, sorry I lied. but i worked on one in college algebra today and imma try to get this posted. at least some. Smile

Gerard didn't even look before he sped off again into the trees, Cris following easily behind him. Even in the darkness, the trees and leaves seemed so much brighter, more crisp. She caught each smell of each individual decaying leaf and each blooming flower. She just felt -- ironically -- more alive. She couldn't help but grin as she caught up to run along side Gerard. She caught scent of the bus: the exhaust, tire rubber, even the cigarette smoke she was certain was permanently grained into the interior.

They stopped abruptly at the edge of the trees and slowly -- agonizingly slow for Cris -- walked back toward the massive vehicle. The door was open and Brian was anxiously pacing outside the door with a half-spent smoke. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he realized they had returned, but found composure quickly when he realized that a previously-rabid vampire was closing in on him, "I-is she all right? Is she taken care of?"

"Don't I look all right?" Cris interjected before Gerard could answer. She began to ascend the bus steps.

Gerard snickered as he watched her, "You look positively radiant, Sugar." 'Ass ain't bad either.'

Cris whipped around with a menacing growl, baring her new fangs with bright eyes: a sight that made Brian jump with a small yelp. 'Don't fuck with me.'

Gerard batted his eyes innocently as Brian looked skittishly between the two of them. When Cris disappeared onto the bus, Gerard started to crack up. "Wh-what? What's so funny," Brian inquired hesitantly.

Gerard raised a foot up to the bottom step of the bus, "Well, I was going to say 'Don't worry, she doesn't bite.'" Brian paled as Gerard only began to laugh again as he followed after Cris, muttering, "Doesn't bite... ha!"

Oooh! I loved the update. I am sorry you lost the rest though.

Cris and Gerard's mental conversations are tre' cool (not the drummer...just a cool thing)

Can't wait for more!!!!

Chapter Five: [Untitled]

Gerard hopped up the rest the rest of the stairs and popped into the mini-fridge. He grasped one of the last three Red Bull's that lined the door, and it opened with a loud crack followed by a slow hiss. He guzzled a few fast gulps then looked around. Not to his surprise, Cris wasn't in sight. Mingled with the scents of his band mates and their tour lifestyle, he picked up Cris' and – again to no surprise – it lead back toward the studio. He followed through the narrow walkway toward the back, the scent strengthening surprisingly as he passed by the bunks. As soon as he cleared the area though, her scent almost completely disappeared. He stopped and whirled in place, eying the bunks suspiciously. The strongest concentration was coming from his bunk. He raised an eyebrow as he bent down and drew the curtain back, "Lost?"

Initially laying with her back to him, Cris rolled to look back at him, "No." Her voice was strong, almost threatening.

Now both eyebrows raised as Gerard let out one short laugh, "You do realize you don't have to sleep?"

Cris was a bit more hesitant to answer, but she was still firm, "Of course."

"Then will you please explain why you're in my bunk?" He sounded calm and patient, if not slightly amused.

Cris stared silently for a few beats, and then she cast her eyes down. "It stinks out there," she admitted ashamed.

Now Gerard barked out a laugh, "It stinks?!"

Cris got defensive as she looked back up at him, "Well… No, but… I can… I could smell everything… It was too much. Even in the studio it was… overwhelming. At least in here its one uniform smell."

"You don't have to breathe either."

Cris mentally kicked herself for not thinking of that earlier. Her body wasn't a living, breathing organism anymore. It was simply a machine that required fuel, and at the moment, she had a full tank. She held her breath, avoiding Gerard's patronizing gaze. She anticipated the building pressure, the sensation of asphyxiation… but nothing came. She still had the reflex to breathe, but when she actually thought about it, she realized she didn’t have to. On top of that, now she didn't smell anything. Embarrassed, she started to get up.

"Eh, you're already in here. Just stay for tonight," Gerard said with a sigh as he rose and took another drink from his Red Bull. Cris peeked out and saw him head toward the couches up front. "Seriously? That's it? No 'Ha ha, I told you so'? No 'I was right now get out'?"

Gerard turned, "Would you like it better if I kicked you out?" his inner voice snapped at her.

Cris gave him a disgusted look and in defiance she laid back down and yanked the curtain closed.

"Thought so," Gerard said under his breath as he turned back around.

Your writing has Matured Chels and Clearly shows in this.

I Do like evil Gee but I LOVE strong Cris!!

I want to see her take over for a bit even if it's just for a Min or two...

I wanna see someone put The Beast in it's place!

Cant wait for more!

He chugged the rest of the can down with a scowl and crushed the can like tissue paper between his hands. Just as he sank himself heavily into one of the empty couches, Brian shuffled up the stairs of the bus. He looked down at the disgruntled Gerard, "…problems?"

"No," he stated firmly as he looked up at his manager with just his eyes.

"She in back?" Brian eyed the doorway of the studio.

"No. Bunk," Gerard grunted as he slowly closed and squeezed his eyes shut.

"…Your bunk?"

"Mm."

"Well… Okay. I'll see you in the morning I guess…" Brian stared at the curtain to Gerard's bunk expectantly as he climbed up into his, thanking his lucky stars he wasn't in the one above him.

Gerard stayed sitting on the couch, concentrating on a brick wall.

'What are you doing?' Cris' voice asked snidely in his head.

Gerard merely grunted and now changed to a stone wall.

'I am extremely confused… Your imagining… exterior décor?'

He wasn't doing this the right way. Imagining walls wasn't going to block her out. His hands went instinctually to his head with his palms against his temples. Instead of picturing walls, he just concentrated on feeling… enclosed. Like, a bubble around his mind – a bubble made of steel. Cris' voice was gone. Now he could think in peace. Almost. There was one voice he could never keep out of his head.

'Well… tonight has been absolutely exhilarating! The Beast preened. The voice of the Beast was an interesting one: the base was definitely Gerard's voice, but it was deeper, and had some sort of accent – an older, more regal accent.

'What the fuck was the point of all this? The world could do very well without another of your kind!'

The Beast scoffed, 'Your kind? You still refuse to call yourself as one of the Gifted?'

'Gifted?! I'm cursed! And now, you've made me spread my disease to her!'

'Despite my great power of persuasion over you, I made you do no such thing. Had you not truly and deeply wanted to turn her, nothing would have been able to make you. Even I.'

Gerard didn't know how to respond right away. 'No… That… Can't be right. You wanted her, not me.'

'Can't it? I do, in fact, find the notion of an underling quite appetizing, but you had the ultimate say on completing the deed. I am simply a disembodied voice. So boy, why did you do it?' Gerard's mouth curled unwillingly into a devious grin.

Which quickly disappeared with a quick shake of Gerard's head as he harshly whispered, "I didn't. I didn't do it."

'You are young, and it is seldom you find changelings not involved in a colony for training if nothing else. Many, in fact, maintain colony life. Where does this place you, boy? Is that perhaps why you changed the girl? Are you lonesome?' The Beast teased.

Gerard clenched his jaw and hissed through his teeth, "It's pretty hard to be lonely when you share a bus with five other guys for several months at a time."

'But they do not understand your strife. They cannot. No one could. Until now. You've created someone to share your troubles, to share your pain. You don't want to be the only one. You want another to suffer with you-'

"NO!" Gerard yelled as his eyes snapped open. The Beast's voice disappeared with an echoing laugh.

I like how Cris was confused by G thinking about brick and stone walls. Smile

But yeah...poor G...he can't help that he was both lonely and like...painfully good looking. Its a curse.
