I Miss You So Far. [2/6][Lyn Z/Gerard/OFC]
Title: I Miss You So Far.
Rating: R
Pairings: Gerard/OFC Gerard/Lyn Z
POV: Third person, centered around Gerard.
Disclaimer: Fiction ≠ Real Life. The people in this story do not belong to me, with the exception of Nora, Madison, Tommy, the security guards. None of this actually happened -to my knowledge that is- and I don't believe that it did. If you do, you are mistaken. It is a work of fiction that I created in my spare time.
Author's Notes: This story has six parts, an epilogue and five chapters.
First part is in the next post.

Part One of Six.

Prologue: "Set The Ferris Wheel Ablaze."
"Dude," Gerard sighed. "Check her out." He bobbed his head towards a pretty brunette, who looked about his age. His younger brother glanced at her, then turned back to Gerard. "She's cute," Mikey agreed, "but WAY outta your league." He smirked, glancing back at her. Gerard threw an indifferent look at his little brother. "Wanna bet?" Mikey shrugged. "Not particularly. But, I'd be impressed if she even showed any interest." Mikey's grin spread from ear to ear. Gerard hated the fact that Mikey was so amused by annoying him. But, that's what little brothers are for. "Well, dickhead, I think she'll like me." He said, starting towards the girl as Mikey mumbled something involving the word 'dumbass.' Gerard wasn't quite sure why he and Mikey has picked this obnoxiously hot June day to go down to the shore, or why they had decided to scratch that plan and tourist-watch at the boardwalk, but he was DAMN glad they did. He wondered aimlessly where the sudden confidence had come from, but quickly suppressed the thought. As he got closer to her, he realized she was standing with a younger girl -maybe seven or eight years old- who was pointing excitedly towards a hot pink teddy bear displaying itself above a rip-off basketball booth. As he reached the girl, she was pulling out her wallet, about to throw it away.
"Don't bother." He said, trying to appear nonchalant. "Excuse me?" She asked in a soprano voice that went perfectly with her demeanor. "You can't win these games, especially not this one. C'mere, I'll show you." He said, leading them around to the side of the booth. The hesitated a bit, but eventually followed. Gerard pointed up towards the hoops. "Y'see that? The hoops are oval, not round. The only way you can get it in is a perfect swish."
[A/N: Next time you go to a carnival, look at the hoops. They're really oval-shaped. I go to way too many carnivals.]
The girls looked at him quizzically. "Used to work this game," Gerard said, with an accomplished smile. "Well, thanks for the warning," The girl said with a warm smile. "But.....the bear......" The younger girl looked longingly towards the stuffed animal. "Oh, hush Maddy," The elder girl retorted. "I could get it for you," Gerard offered. "Oh, no, really, you don't-" Gerard held up a hand to stop her. "It would be my pleasure," He walked around to the front of the booth.
"GERA'D!" The man exclaimed, his accent thicker than ever. "Hey Tommy," Gerard said with a wave. "Why aren'tcha workin' this summah?" Tommy asked, clearly miffed he had to run the game alone. "Eh, better, more profitable things to waste my time with. Anyway, is the game still three bucks a play?"
"Yessir. Same as s'been fer tha last five uh six yeahs. Why ya ask?"
"Well, y'see those girls over there," Gerard said, nodding towards them. "The younger one wants the teddy bear. The pink one. Now, you and I both know this game is fuckin' impossible, especially for an eight year old girl. So, if I give you nine dollars, can I have that pink teddy bear, and one of those cute plush puppies the guys always won for their girlfriends?" Tommy thought for a moment, visibly weighing pros and cons. "Make it twelve, and you gotcha self a deal," He decided with a grin. "Twelve it is." Gerard pulled out his wallet as Tommy went to retrieve the stuffed animals. Tommy pocketed the money as he handed the plushes to Gerard. "Pleashuh doin' bidnuss wit ya." Gerard nodded in agreement and gave a small wave goodbye, as he walked back towards the girls. He handed the bear to the smaller girl, and presented the puppy to the elder of the two. "Thank you so much! You really didn't have to."
"It's no problem...," He trailed off with a questioning look on his face. "Nora. Nora Eason. This is Madison." She put her hand on the younger girl's shoulder, who waved adorably, then went back to marveling at her new teddy bear. "I'm Gerard. Gerard Way."
"Well, Gerard, we were about to ride the ferris wheel, would you like to join us?" Outta my league my ass. "Of course! Let me just find my brother..." Gerard turned around, scanning the area where he abandoned his brother. He eventually found him talking to a guy they both knew from school. Mikey's sibling telepathy must have kicked in, because he looked up to meet Gerard's eyes. "Meet me at the car at seven," He mouthed, as he pantomimed driving a car, followed by looking at an imaginary watch and holding up seven fingers. Mikey gave a thumbs up and went back to his conversation, which was most likely about indie British rock, or Star Wars, possibly both.
Madison crawled into the ferris wheel cart, plopping her bear down next to her. "After you," Gerard said, waving Nora into the cart. He scooted in after her, and they began to ascend. "So," Gerard said conversationally. "What brings you two ladies to the wonderful hell-hole of New Jersey?" He smiled at his own sarcastic remarks, as Nora shot him a dirty glance for swearing in front of her sister. "Well, our dad is here on some business thing for the summer. We're staying in Newark for God-knows-what reason. I decided to take Maddy down to the board walk today, just to switch things up. We've been living in the hotel."
"I don't blame ya, Newark is some scary sh-, er, stuff." He said, hating having to be conscious of his language. "Tell me about it." She agreed, rolling her eyes. "So, why're you here? Vacation...?"
"Nah, I live here. Up in Belleville. Not exactly the prettiest town, but better than Newark, hands down. So, what does your dad do?" Nora hesitated a bit before answering. "Well....He's a CEO for...Sun...Oil....Company." She said, trying to disguise the company by saying its full name. "You mean Sunoco? Like, the gas station Sunoco?" Gerard asked, impressed. "Yes. The gas station. Can we change the subject? I hate talking about it, it makes me feel too stuck up."
"Yea, sure." Gerard said, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. "Uhh.....I.....Do you listen to Iron Maiden at all?" He asked, trying to come up with something to change the subject. "Oh yea." She replied with a smug smile. "I love them."
Next: "And For The Last Night I Lie, Could I Lie Next To You?"

Part Two of Six.

Chapter One: "And For The Last Night I Lie, Could I Lie Next To You?"
"That. Was. Phenomenal." Nora whispered against Gerard's neck as she snuggled closer to him. "You're phenomenal." He breathed into her hair. They laid there for hours, never wanting the moment to end. It was too perfect. The two of them finally alone, lying on the roof of the Way's Pennsylvania cabin. The two of them, staring at the stars. Just the two of them, surrounded with nothing but their love. "I love you Nora." Gerard mumbled, falling asleep. "I love you too." She sighed back, kissing his neck softly.
Gerard woke as dawn was playing around the edges of the horizon. He kissed Nora lightly on the cheek, and grinned as her mouth formed a soft smile as she slept. He slid carefully away, trying his hardest not to wake her. He carelessly threw on his boxers and t-shirt, and went down to the kitchen to make breakfast. He put on a pot of coffee first, then went to the pantry. It was nearly empty, and he didn't feel like going and buying any more. He settled on oatmeal, seeing as Triscuits and pretzels aren't the most nutritious breakfast. "G'mornin." Nora said, coming down the stairs that led to the roof. "Good morning too you too," Gerard replied wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her nose. She smiled and blushed a little, which made him smile. She looked so cute when she did that, Gerard never wanted to let go of her. "Would you like some oatmeal?" He asked, grabbing her hand and leading her over to the microwave where the second bowl was just finishing up. "That would be lovely, thank you." She said, giving his hand a squeeze, then walking over to the small dining table. He grabbed two spoons, and poured two glasses of orange juice, and brought them to the table.
"We have to go home later." Nora said with an exaggerated pout. "I know. It's been an amazing week though," Gerard said with a smirk that heavily implied that by 'week' he meant 'last night.' "Indeed it has," She said with a similar expression. Gerard leaned over the table and kissed her, savoring every moment, knowing their time was limited. "You got your t-shirt in my oatmeal, you idiot." She smiled and stuck her tongue out. Gerard reached across and switched the bowls. "Better now?" She smiled. "Very much better." They continued their breakfast, making small talk occasionally. How nice the weather was, how they missed Maddy and Mikey, how school would be re-starting soon, things of that sort.
"You got everything?" Gerard asked, taking one last look around the cabin before they left. "I'm pretty sure." Nora said, checking over the bathroom again. She walked over to the door where he was standing, and kissed him. "I'm gonna miss you so fucking much Gerard. I don't wanna go back to California tomorrow. I wanna stay here." She said, starting to tear up. He pulled her into a hug. "Shh, please don't cry. We'll still see each other. We'll call, and I'll fly out as much as I can, okay? I've got your number, and you've got mine. We'll stay in touch." He assured her, hugging her tighter. She reached up and took his face in her hands, kissing him lovingly. "We'll stay in touch."
Gerard gave Nora one last kiss. "We'll stay in touch." He assured her again. "I love you," She said, sounding so pained, but so happy at the same time. "I love you too Nora. This has been the best summer of my life." He said, pulling her into an embrace. "I'll miss you terribly." She whimpered into his chest. "I'll miss you more." He said, kissing the top of her head. He reluctantly let go, and watched as she walked towards the taxi that was taking them to the airport. "Goodbye Gerard! I love you! Call me sometime this week, okay?" She said, walking slowly backwards towards the car. "I will honey. I love you too." He blew her a kiss, and she blew one back. She got in the car, and he waved feebly as she drove away. "Goodbye Nora." He mumbled, walking back to his car for the drive back to Belleville.
He finally got back to his house, and walked somberly through the door. "Awwww," Mikey said from the couch. "Poor baby Gerard lost his wittle girlfwend?" Gerard grimaced. "Shutthefuckup, asshole," He spat. "Hey, watch the language," His mother said, slinging her arms around him. "You'll keep in touch with her G, and besides, I'm sure you'll both move on." He frowned at the thought. "I don't wanna move on." He sighed. Donna kissed him on the cheek and hugged him tighter. "You'll survive." She said, untangling her arms, and returning to the kitchen. Gerard sulked and moped his way down to his room, and reached into his pocket to get the piece of paper that contained Nora's phone number and address. His fingers probed his pocket, only to find nothing. He began to panic. He turned both his pockets inside out, and check both his back pockets. He ran frantically out to his car, trying to find the small scrap of paper.
"Shit."
Next" "It's Been Ten Fucking Years Since I've Been Seeing Your Face."

Re: I Miss You So Far. [3/6][Lyn Z/Gerard/OFC]
I have a feeling you're right. Don't mock my minor plot holes. I couldn't think of anything else. I'm really not that great of an author yet.

Chapter Two: "It's Been Ten Fucking Years Since I've Been Seeing Your Face."
[A/N: I know Gerard and Lyn Z were married on the last day of Projekt Rev. IRL, but in this fic, they got married about halfway through. Minor detail I needed to change.]
~Thirteen Years Later~
Gerard sat on the amp, as Frank tuned his guitar, preparing for sound check. "I was thinking earlier," Gerard started. "Oh, was that why I smelled burning rubber?" Frank said with a smirk. Gerard punched him lightly in the arm, continuing. "About Nora," He said with a sigh. "Here we fucking go again!" Frank said with an exasperated sigh. "No, really man. What the hell happened? She had my number, why didn't she ever call me. And I can't find her fucking anywhere! You've seen me, I've looked in every phone book at every hotel, I've Google-d Walter Eason, and Nora Eason, NOTHING EVER COMES UP! She couldn't have just dropped off the face of the planet. I mean, really, what if she did call m-" He was cut off by Frank clamping his hand over his mouth. When Frank was sure that Gerard wasn't gonna start ranting again, he moved his hands to Gerard's shoulders. "Gerard," He stated. "That was thirteen years ago. Stop wondering. Your life went on. Obviously, so did hers. You are now married to the lovely Lindsey. Ann. Ballato. Way," He said, stressing every syllable of her name. "Yea..." Gerard mumbled in agreement. Frank went back to tuning his guitar, and strumming aimlessly to make sure everything was functioning correctly. "She was great though...." Gerard whispered to himself. "SHUTTHEFUCKUP!" Frank yelled, having to use all the resistance in the world not to slap Gerard across the face. "Just, forget about her." Frank sighed, annoyed with his band-mate. Gerard laughed softly. "I can't always just forget her..." He sang quietly. Frank chuckled and shook his head. "You're so lame." He laughed. "What was all the yelling about?" Lyn Z asked as she strode up to Gerard and sat on his lap. "Oh, nothing," He sighed, as she leaned over kissed him on the cheek. He turned his head to catch her lips. Frank bent down and put his face right by theirs. "Isn't this awkward?" Frank asked, grinning like a moron. Lyn Z playfully pushed his face away, and moved around so her back was against Gerard's chest. "Killer crowd today," She said, trying to psyche the boys up even more than they were. "Oh yea?" Mikey asked, walking over to where the small group had formed, mindlessly plucking his bass. Lyn Z twisted her neck to look at him. "Totally. Moshing, screaming, crowd-surfing. They're crazy." Mikey grinned and sat down, up against an amp. "So, what's this little party about? And why wasn't I invited?" Mikey asked, pseudo-pouting. "Oh, Frank and Gerard were yelling, so I decided to see what was up." Lyn Z said, shooting a fake death-glare at the both of them. "What were they yelling about?" Mikey asked, intrigued. "Nothing," Gerard said flatly, getting up and grabbing Lyn Z's hand. "Lets go," He said, leading her somewhere away from his band-mates. As soon as they were out of earshot, Frank looked at Mikey.
"Nora."
Mikey understood immediately. Gerard went through phases. About, every 6 months or so, he'd spend a month saying 'what if' or 'I wonder.' It got on every one's nerves. They all knew she was never coming back. But he couldn't grasp that concept.
"Still?"
'Is that the most the both of you can give?'
Gerard sauntered across the stage as Ray attacked his guitar, whipping his solo out perfectly, as per usual. He looked out, scanning the crowd, enjoying the fact that the fans were enjoying themselves. And that's when he saw her. Nora.
"Holy shit..." He mumbled under his breath. He put his hand to his face to shield the stage lights, and looked again. It was definitely her. The memories flooded back stronger than ever. Sure, he thought about her, but never had it been this strong. He could remember the softness of her skin, her soprano voice that sounded so damn musical, the warmth of her breath, the smell of her strawberry shampoo that matched her so well. The feeling of her lips against his. He couldn't stand it. He needed to go to her. To hold her again, to be with her again. He wanted more than anything to be off that god damn stage. But their set had just fucking started. "GERARD!" He heard Frank scream. He whirled around, looking confusedly at the guitarist. Frank bugged his eyes out, with a WHATTHEFUCKAREYOUDOING?! look. Gerard then realized what was going on, and that he had completely missed out on singing the la's.
'Oh mothafucka if life...'
"What the fuck was that about?!" Frank yelled at Gerard as they were going off stage. "What was what about?" Gerard asked, his eyes still fixated on Nora. "DEAD!, this, you, ALL OF IT! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!" Frank yelled, grabbing his face and turning it forcefully away from the crowd. "Nora." Gerard said, sounding extremely happy, yet so hurt. "What?" Frank asked, thoroughly confused. "Nora. She's here. I need to go see her." Gerard said, walking briskly towards the backstage door. "G...wait.." He heard Frank call after him. He didn't care. He needed to see her. He reached the door, and saw her fighting with security, showing them an old picture of the two of them, trying to get backstage. "She's cool!" Gerard yelled. "Let her through!" The burly security men looked at him, then at her, hesitated a bit, then finally let her through. She came charging at him, and jumping into his arms, her lips slamming against his. It felt so good. The memories, oh, God, the fucking memories! It was almost as if she'd never left. Almost as if they were still seventeen. Almost as if it were still that last day at the cabin, staring up at the stars, blissfully unaware of the separation they were about to face. If someone were to ask Gerard who Lyn Z was, he wouldn't even recognize the name. She finally pulled away from him, but still stayed in his arms. "Why didn't you ever call me?" She whispered, crying. "I....I.....lost the number," He said, obviously shamed. "I looked for weeks Nora....I just couldn't find it. Every hotel we've stayed at, I've looked in phone books. I've looked you up in every database I could find. It was like you didn't exist." He said quietly. She buried her face in his neck, crying tears of sadness, and joy. "Why didn't you call me?" He whispered. She lifted her head up to look at him. "I don't know..." She sniffled, crying even harder. Gerard put his hand on her head, petting her hair lightly. A gold band on his finger caught his eye. 'Shit,' He thought. What if she sees us...'
"Hey, Nora." Gerard said softly, as she lifted her head again, her tears subsiding. "Why don't we go get a hotel room. Y'know to talk. There's no privacy around here." He suggested. She nodded in agreement, but they both knew that talking wasn't really on tonight's agenda. He set her down. "Just give me one second to tell the guys, okay?" She nodded, and he ran back to where they all were. He slipped the ring off his finger, and handed it to Frank. "Watch this," He demanded. Not a question, an order. "Gerard! Are you NUTS?!" Frank said incredulously, staring at the abandoned promise in his hand. Gerard shot him a pleading look as he walked back to where he left Nora. "Please Frankie." He mouthed, lacing his fingers together and pouting. Frank groaned and jammed the ring into his pocket.
Next: "Pick Up The Phone, Fucker."

Geezy creezy...how bad Gerard.
Poor Lyn-Z...she needs to smack him upside his head.
And poor Nora...she doesn't know he is hitched...although...she might but chooses to ignore it.
Evil Nora!

I love how after all of that you are able to conclude that Nora is the evil one in this situationZombierocker wrote:Geezy creezy...how bad Gerard.
