It was 5 o'clock in the morning sometime during early October. I woke up with no chance of falling back asleep. I flipped through the channels, going back and forth between the music videos on MTX and VH1. I finally stopped on VH1 just as the last music video was ending. That's when My Chem moved into my life.
I heard the piano intro to Welcome To The Black Parade and was intrigued by the song's sound and video. It was unique compared to the rap videos that had been on before.
I recognized the name of the band after a few seconds. 'They...they did that Helena song, didn't they?" I had heard it back when it first came out a few years before, but never had gotten into it. Their whole "Let's dance around a coffin!" thing threw me off.
I just sat there, watching the video, sucked into the whole world of this dying man in the hospital gown. Once the video was finished, I chanted the name of the song in my head over and over again, determined to remember it and find out all that I could about the band. This amazing band...
Let's just say I haven't been quite as normal since:P
