As readers and writers ourselves, we're always looking for inspiration in other people's writing, looking at different techniques and things to motivate us along and get our creative juices flowing right?
I read at *least* four fics a day, usually closer to seven. (i have a lot of free time at work)
I will read anything i stumble across that seems interesting; romantic comedies, angst, hurt/comfort, crack!fic, genderswaps (i have a special place in my heart for Always-a-girl!SpencerSmith/BobBryar. because, well, drummers know how to keep a beat...), het, slash, domestic!fic, adaptations of movies, tv shows and books involving band-boys, Alternate Universes (my favorite), band crossovers, GSF (orgies for the win! even if they're just suggested), slash, het, even mpreg (though i tend to avoid it becaause it kind of squicks me out.) when it's by someone i know writes well.
I always want to share them with *everyone* and i know oyu guys are always willing to read. Who better for me to share them with than you guys?
So, i'm going to try, a few days a week, to recomend fics that i found and really enjoyed. occasionaly there will be a theme to my recs (author, fic type, kink if there's sex or implied sex) or maybe i'll rec a specific writer who's impacted my writing and the way i percieve fandom in general. the recs will be inter-bandom, meaning they won't involve stricly MCR (though most of them will). They will occasionaly focus on another band, or another band may be in them. Using other bands gives us more characters to steal and place in our own fics, and they can add soo much dimension to a story. I'm all about broadenind our collective horizon. But my main focus will be MCR.
the abreviations for any other bands included will read as follows:
FOB=Fall Out Boy; PATD=Panic At The Disco; TAI=The Academy Is...; TU=The Used; THS= The Hush Sound; CS=Cobra Starship; GCH=Gym Class Heroes; TC=The Cab P=Paramore; A7X=Avenged Sevenfold, TS=The Sounds
The explanations of abbreviations will be included in every post i make incase you forget and if a band not in this original list is included, I will add them to it.
to clear up any confusion before hand, i'm going to give you an example of the format for a rec within the post. It will look something like this, using one of my favorite crossover/ comedy fics as an example (I'm actually going to use it in my first rec post, so click or not, but knwo you'll be missing the full effect of the actual rec post, as it's more indepth than this...):

I'm totally looking forwards to this.
Ehm...was it you who reccomended the fuics by arsenicjade? Because then I'm extra looking forwards to this, because almost all of those are on my tops list.
And, every time so far an excellent writer reccomended something and I read it, I have absolutely loved it, and it totally becomes a favorite fic for at least a little while!

THREE I laughed out loud when I saw the bands
at how many I either saw this past 12 months or are going to see this year! Those guys in the cab are REAL cuties! But where was We the Kings and Metro Station?!! Even BRAMMY told TRACE ..."I'm Not gay but I think your HOT!!!" And I am sure he meant it!
FOUR lastly...I hate to admit it but I couldn't figure out all of your Abr for the types of fics...
And while most of the girls here are probably familar with most of them as I am, I am hoping we will get some new readers so perhaps a explanation for some of the types might help.

LMAO. i didn't invlude Kings or metro ebcause i havenb't read anything with them in it yet (they're still relatively new on the fanfiction scene) and i should prbably include Empires? because thats tomrads new band, but most of the fics i rec that mention him, he's still in The Academy is... and it kind of broke my heart when they kicked him out. but ya know, whatever. *shrugs*
i have also decided that trace si kind fo adorable and teeny tiny and awesome and HOT. and that makes me feel like a dirtry odl woman, because like, MAYBE 18?*facepalms*
I'll make an abbreviation list for the fic types, as well. the writers over in LJ have developed their own language of acronymns and abreviations and codewords and i've kind of adopted it recently, though sometimes i'm like, WTF DOES THAT MEAN? and i have to pull up urban dictionary or ask.
AND MIME! it was me that rec'd arsenic jade! she is my fanfiction HERO and i aspire to be that good at what i do.
actually small story behind Arsenic. i totally lurk her Livejournal, right? and she used an icon from the Kushiel's Legacy series of novels that i'm addicted to. and i had been thinking about playing around in that world (An alternate universe VERSION OF POST-RENASAINCE FRANCE where courtesans are like priestesses, where sex is an artistic pursuit, where magic and religion share faces with dieties of the world and those dieties really answer prayers. where some people are touched by their gods, given a sexual gift, like say, recieving PAIN as intense pleasure, in order to balance out the ratio of the two in the world and save lives and hearts. HOW could I NOT want to play in that world with panic and mychem and TAi and the like?) with bandom boys, and i messaged her about it and she maybe kind of flailed at me about how she wished she'd though of the idea and omg how awesome she was sure it was going to be when i was don AND SHE IS TOTALLY HELPING ME FLESH OUT AND PLOT AND BRAINSTORM THE STORY.
I may have fangirled out *completely* at that point? BUT ARSENIC JADE OF WEDNESDAY VERSE AND DISCIPLINE AND PUNISH FAME IS HELPING ME WRITE EPIC D'ANGELINE BANDBOY FIC. so i think it's deserved...

*g* I have to write a MASSIVE primer of the book series so people will know something of that world (THERE WILL BE FLOW CHARTS! AND MAPS! AND FAMILY TREES! AND TIMELINES! lots of photoshop), but i'm really really excited about it, so it's not a problem. i had three different people offer to beta it for me. *dances* i'll take over LJ fandom YET!
as for discipline and punish (and they are used as verbs: to discipline and to punish, i believe.) IT MAKES MY HEART ALL MELTY WITH ANGST AND LOVE. because ooh frankie and mikey! BUT
HUNTER from WtK,,might evey give one of the boys a run for his money..
he was THAT cute and that sexy...
It didnt hurt that he kept "hugging" me and searching for a bra strap!

BUT LIS! They are all BABIES and most of them are UNDER 21 and I feel DIRTY for perving all over these guys. WHO WHERE BORN WHEN I WAS KINDERGARTEN.
You can see my dilema? like, i have issues with wanting molest Brendon and Spencer from panic at the disco 9 ways from sunday because they're like, 3 1/2 years younger than me. ISSUES I TELL YOU.
Also, at work, my co-worker and i keep throwing up fangs at eachother. the news desk editors (because i work for a newspaper) keep looking at us funny. and jacques will just yell, "Fangs up, bitches." and then clock out for lunch. *g*

(unless it's like. john grisham? i jsut can't get into that.) seriously, i have run out of shelves in my house to house bokos. and i have a bookcase filled on every shelf, 2-deep and 2high and shelves aorund most of my living/dining area that were built into the house. I AM OUT OF ROOM GUYS. and i cleaned my room (sorta) and FOUND MORE BOOKS. *face palms* and there only, meh, 6 of them i haven't finished yet? mostly because they were LOST IN THE ETHER. because my bedroom totally has Ether. and a timewarp? i'm not joking.
