WAYward Victorian Girls- Pg/pg13 (Mikey either way)

Lydia stood fuming in a corner of Elizabeth's room as the rest of the girls discussed the goings-on in the manner. Her arms were tightly crossed, her nostrils were flared, and her jaw clenched tight. How could Jack have...? Why would he even...? Did he not see...? Lydia couldn't even finish a thought she was so blinded by her anger.

He knew how close she was to her sisters! How could he even THINK of ... allowing such an atrocity to be commited?! And worse yet, keep it from her when he had full knowledge?!

The confrontation with Jack minutes before flashed in her head:

Lydia marched down the hall to the room she knew Jack was staying, leaving Elizabeth alone in the hall with just her candle to fetch the other sisters.

"Jonathan Alexander Xavier Sparrow! Open this bloody door this instant!

A small, reluctant "Bloody hell" was murmured from beyond the door and the fisherman's son opened the door just a crack to his his once Sweet Lydi Love's face turning red with rage as she nearly shook in the doorway, "What have I done to deserve my full name, Love? I believe I've been pretty well behaved--"

She cut him off, "Do NOT play innocent with me Jonathan!" she snapped as she pushed past him.

Now Jack got really concerned, "Lydi? Lydia Darlin' what? What did I do to upset you so?"

Lydia shoved past him into his room as he mindlessly shut the door behind her "I KNOW you were in on that... that... that MONSTER'S plan against Elizabeth!"

Jack paled and the fact that he didn't even try to deny it made it that much worse, "Not even going to try and TALK your way out of this Jonathan?!"

Jack fought to try and explain himself, "Lydi I... He... Ian... Gerard was going to get me a ship! My, no, OUR own ship! I could have taken you away! I still CAN, once his plans unfold--"

"You ASSUME I would still wish to accompany you! Lydia's eyes were brimming with angry tears "Was I to have the same fate as my sister so YOU could get your ship?!" Lydia didn't even allow him to answer as she stormed from his room and angrily wiped her tears away as she walked back to the room Elizabeth was staying in.

And here she stood, fuming in the corner trying to understand Jack's reasoning. A ship? Perhaps there had been more... Perhaps there was a more reasonable explanation. But she would not hear it unless Jack felt compelled to find her and explain himself. If he felt anything for her, he would at least do her that justice.

FINALLY done though if i could ask Lis to maybe do Jack's part? Cuz i dont fully understand Jack's role in this... i mean, i do kinda... but yea... shes the 'DM'

Constable Bryar was in a sour mood as he slunk into the nearest bar. His eyes scanned the dim room, making sure the coast was clear, before he took a seat at the bar. The pretty young bar maid spoke to him,
"Can I getcha anythin'?"
Bryar sighed, "pint."
He felt anger surging through him, and he knew that what he was about to do was not healthy, but it would keep him from being so impulsive and taking what he wanted.
Bryar had been shocked to see the Street rat and his 'friend' together at the 'wedding'. He had been thinking that the boy had already been frightened off by Ian, but to see them together...like that. It made his blood boil.
But if that was not enough for him, he had also come back to the house to see if he would be needed further, only to see the filthy street urchin with his arms around the sweet young girls waist, his lips pressed against her's. It was that...that small token of love and adoration he had seen pass between the two of them that had drove him to drink. He needed it...because if he did not drink then he might go back to that house and wring that rat's neck for ever even thinking he could touch such a fair creature as Miss Olivia.
As he drained his third pint, a nice buzz flowing through him so that thinking about the rat and his mouse did not hurt so bad, he felt someone sit next to him.
"Fancy meeting you here Constable!"
Bryar grunted into his fourth pint, "what do you want McCracken?"
"Me?" He had the gaul to sound hurt, "why do you think I want anything?"
Bryar turned to him, his brow arched.
"Fine Constable, you've got me. I do need you for something."
"Answer's no," Bryar muttered, turning back to the bar.
McCracken moved to his other side, "please old friend," he begged.
"I am not your friend," Bryar said matter-o-factly.
McCracken slumped agaist the bar, "fine...I just thought that maybe you wanted to have Frank's little mouse, but if not I suppose I can take her too. She is a rather pretty tasty morsel and..."
Bryar lifted McCracken off of his stool and slammed him against the nearest wall.
"Don't you dare touch her! You understand that? I'll kill you myself!"
McCracken laughed, "I knew it! You do want her. Well 'friend' I have an offer for you. I can apprehend Frank for you, force him into servitude with threats against his sweet tasty treat, and when he is gone without notice, leaving her broken..."
"I can pick up the pieces," Bryar said, finishing the thought.
"Exactitly Constable," McCracken said with a smile, "all you have to do to help is get the girl away long enough to make Frank worried and I can do the rest. You will be happy, and I will have my best boy back working for me."
McCracken held his hand out, "so, do we have a deal...an understanding?"
Bryar looked at the hand, grimy hand a moment before he gave is a firm shake.
"We have a deal."

Lydia looked around the room at her sisters then back to Jack, who was clearly desperate to make her understand. The sincerity was plain in his eyes, yet Lydia still felt no reason to forgive him... yet. She sighed, not breaking eye contact with him "Sisters... If you'll excuse us..." and she pulled Jack toward the door.

They went out into the hallway and Jack pulled the door closed behind him. Lydia hesitated before speaking, her back toward him. Finally she whispered "Did you... do you... honestly condone Mr. Way's plan?... Do you see that as fit justice?"

Jack reached a hand out for her shoulder, but his hand stopped in mid-air, deciding it was probably not the best action at the moment. "Lydi... I thought his plan to take you from your father would be what you wanted... Even moreso know that I've learned more of what goes on behind the Victorian walls..." Lydia could almost hear his teeth grit together as he finished his sentence.

"Yes, take us away is all well and good... but what about... the second part...?" Lydia fought with her muscles not to shake as she hoped that her Jack could not have over looked such a monstrous plot involving her sisters... involving her.

"Second part...? Lydi, love... I... I don't know what you're talking about... He just told me that if I could help him find out a way to get you and your sisters away from Ian then he'd reward me with my own ship... For me to take you even farther..."

Lydia froze in place at the news. "He... He did?... Thats all he told you?"

"He said he just wanted to do everything he could to hurt Ian the way Ian had hurt him... The worst thing he could think was to take away his daughters... That's all he ever let me in to his plan... He promised no harm would come to you, Lydi... And that's what matters most to me, Love... I would never want you hurt..."

Lydia thought for a brief moment. She came down to two conclusions: she could continue to argue and fight over something that Jack seemed to have no real knowledge over and forgive him, or she could cut out the middle man and forgive him now. The latter seemed the most sensible and least time consuming choice. And to the Wayward Victorian girls, time was of the essence.

Lydia turned and, without looking up into his eyes, stepped close to him and pressed against him, her hands winding around his middle "Im so sorry Jack... I just... when I thought--"

Jacks arms wrapped around her as he shushed her "Don't apologize to a mongrel like me... Whatever... Whatever part of Mr. Way's plan I was missing has really upset you... I should have dug deeper... Learned more about my accomplice before I blindly joined him with the first carrot he hangs in my face... Does... Does he still plan to carry out these plans?" He didn't inquire into what he was missing. After all of the events he'd been caught up on, he wasn't sure he wanted to know.

"No no... Thats what Lizi was telling us... that he's changed his mind..."

Jack sighed and squeezed her tighter, "Good thing... Otherwise, once ol' Jack got wind of it... There'd be a mighty storm brewin'"

so yea, pointless and i even probably have continuity/plot problems... but i just... i wanted to wake this poor baby back up! it was so fun!

Edward stared up at Marisol, a great sadness in his eyes. He had tried to explain himself to her, tell her that he meant none of the sisters any harm, but she would just look away. At the wall, at the floorboards..anything but him. However, she did not pull her hand away when he took it in his, and he found some hope in this.
He studied her profile as she looked away, admiring the way her auburn curls brushed against her pale cheek. He cold only imagine what that skin would feel like beneath his fingertips as he traced her jaw and brushed the rough pad of his thumb against her cheekbone. A small smile flew to his lips as he thought about it, and it took great restraint not to raise his hand towards her. Edward instead squeezed the hand that he held, tracing the bumps of veins on her wrist with his thumb.
"Please.." he whispered, leaning in until his lips lightly touched the space next to her ear, "say something. Anything. Tell me you despise me and want me to leave at once, and I will with haste. Just let me hear that dulcet voice you posses, Mari, once more."

As Frank and Olivia entered the house, Olivia threw another glance toward the haunted grounds of Way Manor. Looking at the shapes that the fog was making made her remember the voice that had spoken to her in the fog. She shivvered, clinging closer to Frank.
"What is it Ollie love," Frank said as he wrapped her closer.
Olivia threw one last glance over her shoulder before leaninng against Frank.
"In the mist...did anyone speak to you?"
She looked up to see that Frank looked concerned, "no, no one was there that I saw, aside from Master Way. Why, did someone speak with you?"
Olivia nodded, "yes, in the mist. I male's voice asking me about a hunt...and something about the last body being found too soon."
She shuddered again as the two of them entered the main hall. Her mind went back to what Frank had said earlier in the day...about a young woman's body being found near her 'home' earlier that day.
"F-frank," she asked softly as she turned towards him. "Do you think that it could have had anything to do with the murders?"
Frank paled slightly, but his eyes were wild. As if the thought of her being that close to a possibe murderer was enough to make him kill the man himself. Still, his words to her were reassuring.
"Just, don't fear Ollie. I will alert Master Way. You ladies will not leave this house without escort...it will be safer this way."
Olivia nodded, thankful for once that Frank was treating her like a girl.
"Don't worry Ollie, you know I'd do anything for you..."
Those words made Olivia shudder again, "please...don't say that. He said that to me, or who he thought I was."
Frank wrapped her closer, "I'm sorry Ollie...let's ust get you back to your sisters. It is nearly time for the wedding."
Olivia nodded, wanting to let her sister know that she understood why she had chosen to stay with 'Master' Way after everything.
They slowly accended the stairs and Frank left Olivia at the door to Elizabeth's room, leaving her with a kiss.
"I will alert Way of what you heard. I promise...I promise that no one with hurt any of your sisters again."
Olivia smiled at him, "I believe you Frankie...and I love you," she said before pressing another kiss to his lips before she entered her sister's dressing room.

ooOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

"Just let me hear that dulcet voice you posses, Mari, once more."

Marisol couldn't help but shiver, his face so near to hers. Even in her anger she couldn't help it. That anger, was boiling down. With all of the hate she felt towards her father, she seemed to have none left for Edward, or any of the other men, for that matter. The important thing was that they had new plans, ones that didn't put her or her sisters in harms way. And with Edward, her "Guardian Angel's" lips pressed to her face like that, she had a hard time not trusting him.

She pulled her face away from his, placing a single finger to his lips. Every move towards him felt like magnets attracting. "Edward, I could never despise you. It is not something I am capable of, I believe. I haven't an idea what it is, but I feel ..safe around you. Safer than I ever felt under that bastards roof. Please, promise me you won't go. Even if I behave like a harpie at times."

Edward squeezed Mari's hand. "I would expect nothing different from a Wayward Victorian Girl," he said as he leaned down, lightly touching his lips to his curly haired "angel's".

I spent the last few hours re-reading this entire thing, which inspired me to update, which hopefully gets other to update so this can get up and going again! I can't believe it has almost been a year since Lis started this, too. It doesn't feel that long go AT ALL.
