I've just started them again - seeing the film twice in one week inspired me to read them, I think.
And I quite liked SUPER-Bella, but then I do like a Disney-style ending, where everything works out very nicely, a minimum of blood is spilled (unless it's sexy vampire biting blood

Re: okay I've read them all
Breaking Dawn ruined everything about the Twilight series for me, and that is all I am going to say before I turn this into an epic rant.

I liked Breaking Dawn!
Open endings rock my face and I dig how she left everything on the edge...like she would have more.
And who knows...she could.
btw, my friends Mel and Gena liked it too...so did my mama.

I'm with you! I liked Breaking Dawn and hey, maybe Jane will get hers in the next book, or the book after that, or *hopes* the book after that - but not too many books, cos I want the sequel written for The Host!

I just don't know - see, I couldn't imagine Rob Pattinson as Edward, but having seen the film, now I can't imagine it being anyone else (fickle aren't I!). I'm trying to remain open minded about any of the characters in the next film, cos sometimes even the most unlikely actors can surprise you!

New Moon is going to blow with all of the actors that they have been thinking about using. Vanessa Ann Hudgens? As Leah? REALLY?!

Re: okay I've read them all
Ok...I will say that her writting style isn't on par with King's or even Rowling's, though as time went on I think the editing of Rowling's books got sloppy. I didn't read it because she was some great writer sent to us from God. I didn't read it because I had heard a lot of hype, to be honest by the time I started reading it only my friend Gena had mentioned it to me.
I read it because I generally liked the story. It flowed well, never lulling too long in something boring. It had dramatic flair and I enjoyed it. Not only that, but it proved that anyone with the drive and a good idea can be a writer too.
To be honest, many of the so called 'Great authors' are not my favorites. 'Oliver Twist' is a boring and depressing book, 'Hard Times' too, but it is a classic. This story is interesting, and I deem it read-able, no matter what the great King says.
Oh...and about a second book for The Host, I am all for it.

Re: okay I've read them all
Okay, be warned, I'm about to swear ... badly!
Who the fuck does Stephen King think he is? Since when did he have the right to comment on other writers' abilities? Now I have been a Stephen King fan since the eighties, he was the first author who I ever really loved (adult books anyway), but that is taking it too far. He is hardly a literary (sp?) genius now, is he?
And apart from anything else, the last few books of his that I have read have really not been that good. Maybe it's just me, but mostly he seems to have an interest in hurting and killing children in a variety of painful ways, and that just doesn't make for a good book and certainly not what I want to read.
FUUUUCCCKKKK!!!! I'm really annoyed now. Stupid, stuck up, middle aged, sucky horror writer that hasn't written a decent book since the nineties!!!!!!
Rant over

Re: okay I've read them all
Well, although he is an author, he is allowed to have an opinion. He's still a person. So he voices his opinion, which he probably knew was going to get people's panties in a bunch, and as far as I am concerned he has every right to. He doesn't need to kiss Stephenie Meyer's ass just because she wrote a popular book and they are both mainstream authors. And Meyer has the same right to say she doesn't like his books either. I bet if he said that he loved the books no one would give a fuck about him judging another writer's work. It's his opinion, that is it. No one has to agree with it, so just accept it or gtfo (I'm sorry, I've just been wanting to use gtfo all day and thought this might be my opportunity).

Re: okay I've read them all
Okay first off...
sorry Zomb..I can't stomach Kings books...I agree with the hurting children stuff NOT what I want to read
Then again I Still haven't read all the HP books Rowling writes like she is paid by the word
and as far as Steph..well She has some bright spots and others well she looks like she knew where she wanted to get too but not how to get there
Mind you I can't reall say much..I've never been published
But I have to Sort of agree with Eyeliner and Daisy at the same time ...Kinda
Yes he's not a lit agent But he is allowed to have an opinion
Course the cynic in me HAS to wonder if he
a) has a bit of sour grapes that none of his books have recently been sought after for movies...the last on was cujo or lawn mower man which he HATED btw
and
B) He KNEW by saying what he did HE'd get some free press
and now having read what he said...She IS writing to an audience...and that market is WHY it took me SO LONG to finally read it
I was afraid it wouldn't be "meaty" enough for me
I am really surprised with all the depressing things in NM that he doesnt say he LOVED that one the best
